The SEW-EURODRIVE BE2B is a compact single-disc spring-applied electromagnetic brake exclusively matched with SEW DRN80, DRN90 and DRN100 AC gearmotors. It adopts the safety-critical power-off braking principle: internal compression springs clamp the friction disc to lock the motor shaft once coil power cuts off; energized DC magnetic force pulls back the armature plate to release the brake for normal motor rotation.
BE2B supports three configurable static braking torque grades (10 Nm / 14 Nm / 20 Nm) via different spring assemblies. The fully encapsulated epoxy coil delivers stable performance with low continuous holding power. Optional BMFR manual release lever enables maintenance-free manual rotor unlocking without power supply. A matched SEW BS series rectifier converts industrial AC mains to rated DC coil voltage, which is mandatory for normal brake operation.
